Why we invested

beSirius reflects our view that sustainability compliance should enable progress, not slow it down. By centralizing supplier data once and reusing it across frameworks, it removes redundancy across industrial value chains. Unsexy, high-leverage software like this is core to how we think about impact at scale.

Anastasia didn’t start beSirius because she loves sustainability reporting. She started it because she was sick of it.

Metals and mining is the most fundamental industry in the modern economy, powering the world’s energy, technology, and security. It’s also been treated for decades as the most unsexy, boring, old-school one. Which means nobody bothered to fix the reality behind the scenes: outdated processes, messy data, and an ocean of spreadsheets, making sustainability a compliance burden instead of the value-generating function.

After a decade in the industry, including leading sustainability for a $10B metal producer, Anastasia realised two things:
 1. sustainability data was never meant to drive reporting, it was meant to drive better decisions, better margins, and better outcomes for the business, and
 2. the industry is too slow to fix it from within.

So she teamed up with her cofounders — Sergey (ex-BCG, executive across extractives) and Seva (the supercomputer builder and resident nerd). She’d known them for years. They shared the same frustration: sustainability teams were being turned into data entry clerks, while the business kept bleeding time and money through manual processes, and missing opportunities to use sustainability as a lever for growth.

Together, they built what they wished they had: an AI sustainability intelligence platform for heavy industry that turns scattered, contextual data into structured, evidence-backed analysis for due diligence, risk assessment, benchmarking, and decision-making. At the core is the data infrastructure the industry actually needs: Sustainability Twins — a living system where data stays contextual, updates in real time, and works at the speed of business.

Anastasia’s conviction is simple: sustainability isn’t charity. If it doesn’t drive revenue, reduce cost, and accelerate decisions, it won’t last. beSirius builds the data infrastructure that makes sustainability scalable, defensible, and commercially relevant.
